In many workplaces and laboratories, the use of hazardous substances is part of everyday work and cannot be avoided. What can easily be overlooked in day-to-day handling is that improper storage—especially of flammable substances—poses various risks to people, the environment, and property. In addition to handling hazardous substances properly, it is therefore particularly important to follow storage regulations. What exactly is a hazardous substance? What legal regulations must be followed? What hazards can arise from the incorrect use and improper storage of hazardous substances? And: What preventive measures can and must be taken to ensure safety? The asecos presentation “Basic Knowledge: Working Safely with Hazardous Substances” answers these and many other questions and shows you how you can store hazardous substances safely and in compliance with regulations at your facility in the future.
